Sizing note. Calculated total is 5.07 tons. Specifying 2.5 + 1.5 + 1.5 + 1.0 gives 6.5 nominal — about 28% over. Each unit must cover its own zone peak alone, and items marked * are already at the smallest capacity commonly available in a split heat pump. Zones 3 and 4 calculate below 1 ton, so ducted mini-splits are the closer match and would bring the total to roughly 6.0.

Orientation. Facade faces southwest, so plan-up is SW and the rear patio wall faces NE. Glazing splits . Because the largest wall of glass faces northeast it takes almost no afternoon sun — that is why the calculated load fell from 5.46 to 5.07 tons once true orientation replaced the earlier southwest assumption.
